Life is full of distractions and it is normal for couples to settle into a routine. A routine romance however lacks in spontaneity and excitement and can leave us feeling bored and restless. There is a lot of pressure surrounding the word and the expectation of “romance.” When we hear the word “romance” we might associate it with candlelight and roses. Because each day does not present an opportunity for such a gesture, romance is something that couples can keep alive through daily interactions.
When we look at our partners as our lover then we are more likely to treat them as such. Some fun suggestions for keeping romance alive include:
*Touch daily and often.
*Take a walk and hold hands.
*Write each other a love letter or a flirty note on a post-it before you leave for work in the morning.
*Plan surprises for one another such as a vacation, a date night out, or something special that you know your partner would love.
*Be romantic spontaneously instead of saving it a remedy for
*Say I love you every day.
*Engage in meaningful conversation at least once per day.
*Have fun and play together.
*Schedule regular date nights and take turns planning what you will do. Choose something that you like in order to help your partner continue to discover new and exciting characteristics about you.
To be romantic is to make a choice to wake up each day and ask yourself what you can do today to let your lover know they are adored. Have fun in your romance and remember that the more effort you put into your romantic relationship the more love you will receive in return. Be the partner that you seek and live a life filled with passion and romance.
